Are you a BIG cat lover and want to volunteer at Cattyshack Cafe?! Volunteer opportunities are available in partnership with Gulf Coast Humane Society. If interested, you must sign up through their website, and complete orientation.
We offer service learning hours for all FGCU Students!

You will be responsible for:
- Greeting customers with a positive attitude
- Check-in customers with reservations
- English fluency
- Willing to not use cell-phone for personal use during shift
- Must be comfortable using technology including POS software, Square, IPads, etc
- Take reservations for walk-ins
- Take and prepare food/drink orders, including beer/wine
- Answer general questions about the cat cafe
- Have previous experience in a coffee shop with knowledge of serving specialty coffee drinks (espresso, lattes, cappuccino, etc)
- Previous retail experience is ideal
- Clean service, kitchen and restroom areas
- Must have, or able to obtain, Servsafe certifications
- Must be able to carry out physical expectations of the job including standing for long periods and lifting 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 15+ hours a week, including nights/weekends/holidays
You will be responsible for:
- LOTS of cleaning!!!
- Must enjoy being around cats AND humans
- Greeting customers and familiarizing them with the rules
- Should be comfortable using technology including IPads, online reservation system, etc
- Willing to not use cell-phone for personal use during shift
- Engaging with customers about different cats to help facilitate positive interactions and adoptions
- Cleaning litter boxes, sweeping, mopping and sanitizing cat areas routinely
- Doing loads of laundry as needed
- Proactively recognize and defuse any negative cat or human behaviors or interactions
- Maintain cats’ supply of food and water
- Assist with special events
- Must be able to carry out physical expectations of the job including lifting 50 pounds
Barista/Cafe Teammate (Part-Time & 18+ years of age)
You will be responsible for:
