More Explores celebrated a day late at the most puuuurfect place!

Cattyshack Cafe at Gulf Coast Town Center is a cat cafe! It’s the perfect place to satisfy your coffee and cat lovin’ craving!

Located in Gulf Coast Town Center, Cattyshack Cafe brings the popular cat cafe trend here to Lee County while saving thousands of local feline lives in the process.

Amber and Andrew’s goal is to find wonderful homes for their cats, while provided a high-touch cafe experience for their human patrons. They believe that “believe every day should be vaCATion in PURRadise!”

“It gets the cats exposed, and it gets them seen.  The matches we make with the adopters are much better than a traditional shelter. You have a much better idea of what kind of cat you are going to take home.”

Matt Walden, an FGCU grad and musician, performed at Cattyshack Cat Cafe at Gulf Coast Town Center Wednesday night.

Cattyshack Cat Cafe was aiming for 365 cans to celebrate each day of the year.

They received more than 3,200 cans for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

Cattyshack Cafe has adopted out nearly 800 cats from our community.

Most of the cats and kittens come from the Gulf Coast Humane Society and are spayed, neutered and ready to go.

Allergic to cats? No problem! The air systems in the cafe and cat area are separate, so you can still enjoy a tasty treat while admiring the adorable kitties.

“It’s the first Cat Cafe in Fort Myers and they are doing a lot of good around our town ♥️

Businesses were closing. But, fiances Andrew Townsend and Amber Redfern not only decided to work together, they decided to open a new business.

Amelia Sheret and her family hadn’t planned to adopt two kittens. One was their limit — or so they thought.

If you’re looking to add some fun to your fitness routine, cat yoga might be the purrrfect way.

At most cafes, proprietors’ main concern is keeping up with demand for coffee, pastries and sandwiches.

How do you take your coffee—with a dash of sugar? A dollop of cream? How about a side of furry friends to play with?

A new cafe gives rescue cats a second chance. And it’s a purr-fect combination!…

“Catzi was a stray from Collier County,” recalls Cattyshack owner Andrew Townsend. “When he first got here, he didn’t want to have anything to do with anyone. Now that he knows that people come and talk to him, he has been very chatty and likes to come out and talk to people.”

“If you need a nice place to relax and chill in Florida, Go visit Cattyshack Cafe!”

FGCU alum Andrew Townsend was a professional gambler for years before finding his passion for cat rescue.

The new business is split down the middle to offer the area’s first cafe and cat lounge experience.

You can even adopt one of the cats, if you want. They all come straight from Gulf Coast Humane Society.

Like other cat cafés across the country, Cattyshack Cafe lets visitors drink coffee, eat pastries and hang out in a room full of free-roaming cats (no cages). You can even adopt one.

Where others see problems, entrepreneurs see opportunities.

Cattyshack Cafe offers coffee, pastries, beer and wine, all while helping some of the many homeless cats and kittens in Southwest Florida.
